At Hitchcox Cider, we don’t just make drinks — we bottle up passion, purpose, and a bit of bearded magic.

Every drop we produce is rooted in traditional methods, but with a bold, fresh twist that reflects who we are: independent, slightly mischievous, and utterly devoted to the apple.

Meet Founder & apple Alchemist, Toby

It all started with one man, one dream, and one very solid beard. Toby Hitchcox left the UK with £60 in his pocket and a one-way ticket to New Zealand. Somewhere among the sun-drenched orchards of Motueka, he fell in love — not with a person, but with the apples, the land, and the gentle craft of fermentation.

That orchard epiphany stayed with him all the way back to his family farm in Oxfordshire, where he planted 400 trees and started experimenting. No shortcuts, no concentrates — just 100% apple juice, patience, and a borderline obsession with getting it right.

Fast forward to today, and Hitchcox Cider is an award-winning, full-flavoured adventure. We’re still based on the same farm, pressing apples the old fashioned way and staying true to what got us started.

Toby’s beard is still going strong, too.

Our ciders are gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and absolutely free of artificial anything.

From single-variety stunners to fruit-infused favourites and even a growing range of craft beers — we believe in doing things properly, and having a good time doing it.
