Tucked in the orchard under our tipi with a twist, The Kitchen at Hitchcox is no ordinary café. Chandeliers hang from the beams. A stuffed peacock keeps a curious eye on things. It’s rustic, a little eccentric, and full of character.

Open from 9.30 – 12.00 every Friday initially, we’re serving cracking coffee and cake in a setting that’s as warm and welcoming as the coffee.

THE NOTORIOUS BLT

Bacon, lettuce, and tomato – but bigger, bolder, and badder. Griddled bacon stacked high with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato, finished with a tangy cider-mayo. A proper heavyweight in a baguette.

Hitchcox cider-infused sausage patty with a golden fried egg, tucked into a soft proper bun and dressed with apple-cider ketchup (oh who are we kidding? Brown sauce it is!)

THE GARDEN STACK (V)

A golden vegetable patty made with a splash of Hitchcox Salt Cider, served in a toasted bagel with Greek yogurt and spiced sauce. Fresh, bright and full of orchard warmth.

THE CORE-NOLA BOWL (V)

Toasted oat & apple granola made on the grill pan, served over creamy coconut yogurt, topped with orchard-fresh apple slices and a drizzle of spiced maple. Crunchy, wholesome, and good for the core.

 

A little bit about The Kitchen at Hitchcox

 

This is our feel-good food experience with real roots.

Run by our chef with some front of house help from the students from Orchard Therapeutic Farm, every order helps build confidence, skills and a strong sense of community. These young people bring fresh ideas, serious graft and proper joy to The Kitchen. It’s hands-on hospitality with a lot of heart.

 

So swing by, pull up a chair and tuck into something that tastes good and does good too.
