Back on 17th May, we trundled up the hill – cider van in tow – to join the legendary Aston Hill Centenary Car Show, a roaring celebration of vintage wheels and motoring heritage in the heart of Aston Clinton.
It was the kind of day where classic motors gleamed in the sunlight, the scent of engine oil lingered in the air, and the sound of our cider pouring was almost as satisfying as a purring V8.
For Toby, our resident apple alchemist and unashamed car enthusiast, the day was a dream. Surrounded by rare classics, throaty engines and Aston Martins (his not-so-secret obsession), he spent the day wide-eyed and cider-handed, grinning like a kid in a sweet shop.
And speaking of sweet – our vintage Hitchcox 1947 Chevrolet Truck held its own among the polished bonnets and buffed chrome. She might not go from 0 to 60 in under five, but she does serve up an unbeatable pint of cider with rustic flair.
From our outside bar, visitors sipped their way through our award-winning blends while soaking up the show. There were chats about torque and tannins, bumpers and barrel-ageing – the perfect collision of motoring and orchard know-how. It’s safe to say, cider and classic cars are a surprisingly natural pair.
From private parties to village fêtes, food festivals to full-blown field days – Hitchcox brings the cider and the charm. Our outside bar is available to hire, complete with vintage van, top-notch staff, and all the orchard energy you need.
